Privacy and your data

This article explains the current data flows in Dynosaur. It is product guidance, not a standalone legal privacy policy.

Log analysis and local saves

Logs are sent to Dynosaur's server for analysis. Signed-in workspaces automatically save their recordings, vehicle details, reports and notes to your private cloud account. Guest workspaces and downloaded exports remain on your device.

Browser storage can be cleared or evicted. Keep an exported backup of recordings you want to retain.

Vehicle identification

Local VIN matches stay within Dynosaur. An external lookup sends the full VIN to NHTSA; European coverage may be incomplete. You can always enter vehicle details manually.

Optional AI explanations

Generating an explanation, asking a question or requesting Deep Analysis requires an account and uses one AI credit. It shares the selected analysis context and your message with the AI provider. AI is optional and can make mistakes; it does not certify engine health or approve a tune.

Signing in and recovery drafts

If runs are open before sign-in, a local recovery draft can preserve them on this device. After signing in, loaded workspaces save automatically to your cloud account. Turnstile verifies sign-in requests before an email link is sent.

AI generation remains a separate action. On help pages there is no active workspace; return to the analyzer to open saved work.

Cloud workspaces

Signed-in workspaces save automatically, including VINs, vehicle details, diagnostic reports, notes and raw logs. They are private, not public links, but are not end-to-end encrypted: the service operator can access them. Failed saves are queued on your device and retried. The save indicator shows whether the cloud copy is current.

You can keep 50 cloud workspaces, up to 250 MiB total. Each workspace allows 5 MiB compressed, 32 MiB expanded and 20 runs. Autosave updates the existing workspace. You can download, open or delete workspaces from Account, and keep an additional named copy when needed.
